Tom Kioski Memorial Scholarship

Learn more about your impact

Tom Kioski worked in television production in Arizona for more than 40 years and began his career in an ASU work/study program at KAET-TV (Channel 8) before going on to produce shows at KPHO-TV (Channel 5) and KTVW-TV (Channel 33). He also worked as a freelance television camera operator covering the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Coyotes and eventually transitioned to working full time in the sports industry.

The Tom Kioski Memorial Scholarship was made in his memory and started by his daughter, Karen Garrity. The scholarship supports students who, like Kioski, pursue a career in TV production.

This scholarship means I can continue working towards my degree in sports journalism. I plan on using my degree to become a producer for live sporting events, sport talk shows or in the newsroom."
