About Us

The Sun Devil Family Association is committed to providing parents the information they need to stay informed of university happenings and to help their students through their college years. We coordinate a variety of programs and fund numerous resources that benefit all students. Gifts to the Sun Devil Family Association Fund support scholarships, free tutoring, a free Thanksgiving dinner, an emergency crisis fund, and much more.

Engagement Opportunities

The SDFA offers many ways to engage with the university and connect with each other, enhancing the university experience for all Sun Devils parents and families. These opportunities include:

  • Hosting a regional Sun Devil family coffee or reception
  • Assisting at regional Sun Devil Send Offs to welcome new families
  • Greeting prospective families at nationwide ASU recruiting events
  • Volunteering at local university events: Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Homecoming, New Student Orientations, and more
  • Welcome calls: Serve on the parent-to-parent calling task force
  • Parent-leader opportunities (Leadership Council and Leadership Circle)

Leadership Council

The SDFA Leadership Council is a nationwide network of dedicated Sun Devil families committed to student success by providing volunteer and financial resources. Leadership Council members:

  • Direct parent-funded grants and scholarships
  • Serve as parent-leader connector points for local and regional university outreach efforts and activities
  • Receive invitations to exclusive receptions, tailgates and donor/scholar recognition events
  • Invest annually in SDFA student success initiatives at the Gold, Maroon or Supporter Family Council giving level
